I. Preparation Work

Before connecting the concrete pump pipe to the simple distributor, some preparatory work is needed. This includes preparing the delivery pipe, the simple distributor, and the necessary connectors. Due to the large diameter and heavy weight of the concrete pump’s delivery pipe, at least two people are required for the operation.

II. Connection Steps

1 First, insert the head of the concrete pump’s delivery pipe into the delivery port of the simple distributor. Ensure the insertion depth is not too deep; generally, 10-15 centimeters is sufficient.

2 Then, connect the delivery port of the simple distributor and the concrete pump’s delivery pipe using a connector, ensuring that the connection is sealed firmly to prevent concrete leakage or seepage.

3 Next, start the concrete pump and control the delivery through the pipe. During the concrete delivery process, adjust the speed and position of the simple distributor to ensure the concrete is evenly spread over the construction surface.

4 Finally, after use, remove the head of the concrete pump’s delivery pipe from the delivery port of the simple distributor. Clean and disinfect the pipe to ensure the hygiene and safety of the equipment.

The above steps outline the basic method for connecting the concrete pump pipe to the simple distributor. Proper connection and coordinated operation can make construction smoother and more efficient. Additionally, attention should be paid to safety and equipment protection during the connection process to avoid accidents and equipment damage.

Explore the differences between concrete pump and boom placers, including their definitions, characteristics, application scope, operational flexibility, cost considerations, and safety. This article aims to assist engineering technicians in selecting the most suitable concrete conveying equipment based on specific project requirements, construction environments, and budget, whether it’s the highly efficient and flexible concrete pump truck or the cost-effective boom placer. In modern construction, the transportation and pouring of concrete are crucial tasks. With the development of construction technology, concrete conveying equipment has also been constantly progressing and innovating. Concrete pumps and boom placer, as two main types of concrete conveying equipment, play important roles in construction projects. Although they are both designed to efficiently and accurately convey concrete to construction sites, they differ in structure, function, and application. This article will delve into the differences between concrete pumps and boom placers to help engineering technicians make more suitable equipment choices in practical work.

Differences Between Concrete Pumps and Boom Placers

  1. 1. Equipment Structure and Composition: Concrete pumps are complex machines that combine conveying and placing, consisting of a truck chassis, pumping system, and boom system; whereas boom placers are simpler, mainly composed of a boom and a conveying pipeline, needing to be used in conjunction with a concrete trailer pump.

  2. 2. Application Range: Concrete pumps are suitable for various types of construction, especially for high-rise buildings or complex terrain concrete pouring. Their booms can extend and rotate, allowing them to deliver concrete to almost any position. In contrast, boom placers are mainly suitable for concrete pouring in high-rise buildings, especially in narrow urban environments where concrete pumps cannot enter or where the boom cannot cover.

  3. 3. Flexibility and Efficiency of Operation: Due to their design, concrete pumps can quickly move to different positions at construction sites and can flexibly deliver concrete to construction points by adjusting the boom. This high level of flexibility and efficiency makes concrete pumps indispensable in large construction projects. While boom placers have unique advantages in high-rise buildings, they are less flexible in mobility and adjustment compared to concrete pumps, usually requiring more time for preparation and positioning adjustments.

  4. 4. Cost Consideration: From a cost perspective, the purchase and operation costs of concrete pumps are usually higher than those of boom placers. Concrete pumps have higher prices, and maintenance and operating costs are relatively high. In contrast, boom placers have relatively lower initial investment and operating costs, making them a more economical choice for projects with limited budgets.

  5. 5. Safety and Stability: Concrete pumps are designed with a focus on operational safety and stability. The design and manufacturing of their booms follow strict standards to ensure stable operation in various environments. While boom placers have simple structures, special attention must be paid to safety measures during operations in high-rise buildings to ensure the stability and safety of hoisting and conveying processes.

Trailer Concrete Pump

Trailer Concrete Pump

This type concrete pump is mounted on a trailer, and it is commonly referred to as trailer-mounted concrete pump. It is also called stationary concrete pump or static concrete pump. We have two different types of this concrete pump trailer. One type is diesel engine driven, the other is electric motor driven.

Concrete Line Pump

Concrete Line Pump

This type of concrete pump is mounted on a truck, and it is commonly referred to as a line pump or truck-mounted concrete pump. It can move to different jobsites by itself, not like a trailer concrete pump, there must be a device to tow it. For this truck-mounted concrete pump, it can move by itself. ..

Trailer Concrete Mixer Pump

Trailer Concrete Mixer Pump

According to the requirement of our clients, HAMAC researched and developed this concrete mixer with pump. You can finish all the work by only one machine. It combines concrete mixer with concrete pump. When the concrete pump is working, the concrete mixer is also working. It will save your time to produce and deliver the concrete.

Truck-mounted Concrete Boom Pump

Truck-mounted Concrete Boom Pump

A truck mounted concrete boom pump is generally mounted onto a truck chassis, hence why it can also be referred to as a ‘truck-mounted pump’. A boom pump has an arm (the ‘boom’) that can be easily and controlled remotely to deliver and apply concrete exactly where you need it. A boom pump is suitable for high-volume concrete pumping, with an output of at least ..

Self-climbing Concrete Placing Boom

Self-climbing Concrete Placing Boom

The concrete placing boom is an ideal device to assist the trailer concrete pump and truck-mounted concrete pumps. It is used to enlarge the pouring range of the concrete. There is a pipeline inlet under the concrete placing boom, just connect the pipeline of the pump to the pipeline under the concrete placing boom, then the concrete can be placed at different positions on the floor by the concrete placing boom.
